The watch has a stainless steel case with a diameter of 43mm.
Because of the large dial, the watch is perceived as quite large on the wrist. In terms of finish, it actually punches well above its own weight if you consider the price. The watch has satin-brushed lugs, Polished bevels, and brushed sides. This combination of brushed and polished elements, including bevels are details that you primarily find on premium timepieces, so to find it on the SNE473P1 is a huge plus. The lugs are also quite short, which allows for a larger dial to fit on the wrist.
To make it easier to change straps, it has lug holes.
To add to the versatility of this timepiece, it has a 100m/330 feet water-resistance which makes it suitable for swimming but not scuba diving.
The crown is large and positioned at 3 o’clock. It has notches to provide a better grip. It is a push-pull crown and not a screw-down.
Interesting to note about the design is that both the bezel and crystal sits tall on the case. This means the bezel is actually quite thick. It is also satin-finished on the top and has knurled sides.
The watch has a Hardlex crystal, which is commonly used by Seiko in this price range. Hardlex is not as tough as sapphire crystal but harder than regular mineral glass.
